VARIOUS APPROACHES TO DO ANGIOGRAPHY
There are various approaches through which angiography can be done. Most common approach is through Femoral route; others are Radial and direct Carotid route.
HOW MUCH TIME DOES IT TAKE TO DO ANGIOGRAPHY
There procedure can be done on day care or OPD basis. With procedure time of anywhere between 15mins to 45mins.
WHY DO WE DO ANGIOGRAPHY
Blood vessels are not seen on normal Xray. For them to be seen a special dye/contrast is injected into the required blood vessel and visualised under special machine.
Angiography helps us to know about narrowing/stenosis, clots/thrombus, ballooning/aneurysm in the blood vessels.
